About

What's the most common feeling that folks have when walking into our space? They feel instantly at home.

Located in the beautiful Curtis Park neighborhood of Sacramento, Redwood Community Space is Sacramento's cozy living room of community places. made up of private practitioner offices and an inviting teaching space. As care providers, we know that practicing in a collaborative space allows us to develop innovative, creative solutions to community building which is why we offer our space for classes, workshops, groups, and gatherings.

At Redwood Community Space you're invited to get comfortable and grab a cup of tea while accessing the services of one of our resident practitioners (see below) or taking part in a class. RCS is easy to get to - we're conveniently located near the junction of the 99, 50, and 80 freeways. And we're right across the street from one of Sacramento's popular ice cream hangouts, Gunther's, for an extra treat before or after your visit to RCS.

We are dedicated to inclusivity and welcome everyone irrespective of race, sexuality, gender, family structure, class, country of origin, religion, age, and/or ability. Because everyone deserves safer spaces.

Learn more about how we can serve you by checking out our classes, meeting our resident practitioners, and discovering how you can book RCS for your next event. If you have any questions, feel free to get in touch.

We look forward to meeting you at our next event or healing session.

A Note on Accessibility: Our space is located on the second floor of a building that does not have an elevator. The bathrooms in the building are narrow. We do not use scented cleaning products in our office space. Seating includes folding chairs, a couch, and floor cushions. We are continuously working on making the space more accessible. If you have any questions about accessibility or have a particular accessibility need that will make your time at RCS easier, we welcome you to get in touch.

Tel Viehmann Cunningfolk

Midwife, Fertility Specialist, Arvigo Practitioner

I am the midwife behind Taproot Midwifery. I provide holistic care during the childbearing year including complete prenatal, homebirth, and postpartum care. Additionally, I offer fertility consultations and perform inseminations, specializing in serving queer and transgender populations. I focus on wellness throughout the lifecycle as a practitioner of the Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy®.

I love serving families as they grow and expand during the childbearing year. The process of giving birth and becoming a parent is beautiful, intensely powerful, messy, and transformative. I see myself as a facilitator, helping you give birth to yourself throughout the entire experience of pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum.

After receiving my undergraduate degree in Psychology and my Master’s degree in Social Work, I am thrilled to have found the perfect medium to support people in their journey towards health and well-being. Hypnotherapy is so results-oriented, and works so quickly and gently, that it is an excellent fit with my passion of supporting others to make positive change in their lives.  My diverse background working with many different people in myriad life stages and circumstances enables me to meet all of my clients where they are.  I am also skilled at creating a warm, supportive, peaceful space for my clients to achieve their goals.

I am continually amazed by the gentleness and efficacy of hypnotherapy at breaking up unwanted barriers that hold us back from health, goals, and dreams. My favorite thing about being a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist is celebrating my clients’ successes.

Alexis J. Cunningfolk

Herbalist, Magickal Mentor

Since 2010 I have offered classes and consultations through Worts + Cunning Apothecary in traditional western herbalism and magickal arts with an intersectional and social justice oriented  framework. As a queer and mix-d person, I am especially interested in understanding what we have inherited from our ancestors and how we learn to untangle the path for ourselves and our descendants.

I believe that wellness is a right not a privilege and in service to that vision I offer plant medicine as an accessible and powerful form of healing. Through my classes and consultations I help people and plants connect to in meaningful ways that allows for deep healing to occur. I also teach magickal arts from tarot to astroherbology to simple ritual to realign with the sacred, celebrating the full spectrum that traditional western herbalism and esoteric tradition has to offer.
